Kai Office

The challenge of this project was to transform a dull, boring office into a workspace appealing to young energetic team of professionals with an eye for a good design.
I enjoyed designing fully customized space, including reception area, board room, small kitchen, managers offices – 11 rooms in total, that would not only look great, but work best for my client’s needs. I wanted to create a space that feels organic, but young and energetic, have good flow and space logic. Working with companies like Teknion, Herman Miller and Kiosk Office was a great experience. As with all of my projects, I start with collecting as much information as possible to get a clear understanding of the needs of my clients. Space planning follows the programming phase. Next is the lighting and electrical plans. I make sure to include different lighting layers – general, task and ambient lighting to complement my design choices. I can never understate the importance of a good lighting in any space and especially at the workspace. The style, materials and furniture complete a good cohesive space plan. And then the fun starts – to implement all the ideas and choices into a real space with the help of many people involved in any construction project. This process is always challenging and sometimes downright difficult. But results are always satisfying! Here are the words of my happy clients:
“Great job! Svetlana - head designer at the company has an eye for color and a great space planning ability, allowing her to positively transform any room and turn it into an inviting and likeable conversation piece. Svetlana always oversaw contractors working on site and her insistence on finishing each job to perfection had helped create a perfectly polished product.”

It is a way of organizing a personal space, whether it is a house or a work place, to express the personality and intellect of those who inhabit them. When I meet with my clients for the first time I ask a lot of questions trying to figure out their habits and life styles, their likes and dislikes. I pay attention to all the little details and everything is important. I take great pleasure in positively impacting people's lives by helping execute my client's own vision in designing spaces that make them happier and their interiors more enjoyable!"
